Military events/news are listed below by the governorates:
Raqqa: Earlier today, reports appeared that a deal was reached between SDF and the Syrian government about the handover of five villages on the southern river bank of the Euphrates. Meanwhile, government forces kept advancing and captured the Salam Alaykum village and nearby areas southeast of Raqqa. Meanwhile, ISIS managed to capture several SDF positions and their weapons during raids in Raqqah city. Clashes are ongoing and the officers housing in western Raqqa was captured by SDF.
Idlib: The Bab al-Hawa border crossing was opened from the Turkish site, meaning people can enter Syria from Turkey.
Homs: Baghliya village was captured today by government forces, west of Palmyra.
Damascus: Several airstrikes targeted areas under Faylaq al-Rahman control in western eastern Ghouta pocket.
Daraa: Russian military police have been deployed to several areas in Daraa province, also near the Golan, to monitor movements and check cars on joint SAA-Russian Army checkpoints.
On the 25th of July 2017 CJTF-OIR has conducted 27 strikes in Syria. CJTF-OIR‘s main focus in Syria at the moment is Raqqa region where they did twelvestrikes supporting SDF‘s operations against IS destroying fighting positions, a VBIED and a mortar factory.
Other area where one airstrike occurred is Abu Kamal (Al-Bukamal) and five in Deir al-Zour, aswell as seven strikes near Shaddadi. Full report on CJTF-OIR strikes conducted in both Syria & Iraq can be found here.
Philippines: IS claims 7 AFP casualties after IED attack in Marawi city. ISIS also claims to have killed 9 soldiers during fighting there.
